Mid-Century Bauhaus B34 Cantilever Chairs by Mart Stam for Linea Fiam, Italy, 1980s

A sophisticated set of iconic B34 cantilever chairs, inspired by the pioneering tubular-steel furniture designs developed by Mart Stam in the 1920s and later produced in Italy by Linea Fiam.

The B34 is celebrated for its distinctive cantilever construction, architectural silhouette, and elegant combination of chrome-plated steel and leather. This Italian version showcases beautiful craftsmanship, featuring thick cognac saddle leather upholstery and leather-wrapped armrests, creating a warm contrast against the polished chrome frame.

The result is a timeless piece of furniture that works exceptionally well in Mid-Century Modern, Bauhaus, Minimalist, Industrial, and Contemporary interiors.

Each chair retains the original “Linea Fiam” embossed stamp on the rear of the backrest, providing an important indication of its original manufacture.

CONDITION

The chairs are in very good vintage condition.

The chromed steel frames retain a beautiful shine and are free from significant damage. The cognac saddle leather is exceptionally well preserved, showing only light and natural signs of age and use. These subtle traces give the leather an authentic patina and enhance the vintage character of the set.

A rare opportunity to acquire a refined Italian interpretation of one of the most influential cantilever chair designs of the 20th century.
