A beautifully preserved S34 armchair inspired by the iconic Bauhaus design of Mart Stam, produced in Italy during the 1980s.
The chair combines the characteristic tubular chrome-steel construction with a sophisticated cognac leather seat, backrest and armrests, creating an elegant and highly architectural appearance.
The S34 is closely associated with the development of modern cantilever and tubular-steel furniture. Mart Stam’s pioneering experiments with tubular steel in the 1920s helped establish the cantilever chair as one of the defining forms of modernist furniture. Later Italian productions of the S34 continued this unmistakable Bauhaus aesthetic, combining functional construction with clean, minimalist proportions.
This Italian example features a particularly attractive open tubular frame, with the chrome structure continuing seamlessly into the armrests and supporting the beautifully shaped leather upholstery.

CONDITION
The chair is in very good vintage condition.
The chrome-plated tubular frame is clean and retains a beautiful shine. The leather seat, backrest and armrest coverings are also very well preserved, with only minor signs of age and use consistent with a vintage piece.
