Rare Mid-Century Scandinavian Rocking Chair by Ingmar Relling for Westnofa, Norway, 1970s – Black Leather & Bentwood

A striking example of Scandinavian Modern design, this vintage rocking chair was designed by Ingmar Relling for Westnofa in Norway during the 1970s. Combining timeless Nordic aesthetics with exceptional comfort, this sculptural piece showcases the elegance and functionality that define Scandinavian furniture design.

The beautifully curved bentwood frame creates a distinctive silhouette, while the ergonomically designed seat provides a relaxed and supportive sitting experience. The chair has been newly upholstered in genuine black leather, creating a sophisticated contrast with the warm wooden frame and enhancing its luxurious, understated appearance.

Both visually impressive and exceptionally comfortable, this rocking chair is ideal for a mid-century modern living room, a contemporary reading corner, or a carefully curated vintage interior. Its organic curves, elegant proportions, and gentle rocking motion make it a functional design statement as well as a collectible piece of Scandinavian furniture.

The chair is in excellent vintage condition, with only minimal signs of age-related wear. It is very comfortable and retains its original design character. A manufacturer’s stamp is present underneath the chair.
