An exceptional example of Verner Panton’s late-career experimental furniture design, this Pantonic 5000 combines sculptural postmodern form with the warmth and flexibility of molded plywood. Its highly expressive silhouette, flowing contours and distinctive perforated backrest make it instantly recognizable as a Panton design.
In 1992, Verner Panton designed the Pantonic series in three models — 5000, 5010 and 5020 — for the Danish design studio HÅG. The series was produced in several strong colors, including black, red, yellow and blue. The Pantonic 5000 is particularly striking in its black finish, emphasizing the chair’s dramatic sculptural geometry.
This is the original vintage chair, not a modern reproduction. Examples of the Pantonic 5000 are rarely encountered on the vintage design market, and complete examples in this condition are especially desirable for collectors of Panton and postmodern Scandinavian design.

Condition
The chair is in very good original vintage condition, retaining its original black finish and sculptural form.
