An exceptional and rare first edition FG2001 Series sofa, designed by Dieter Rams for Wolfgang Feierbach in 1960s Germany.
This iconic Mid-Century Modern piece represents a unique chapter in design history, combining Rams’ minimalist functional philosophy with Feierbach’s pioneering fiberglass production techniques. Produced during their early collaboration—originally commissioned for Vitsœ—this series was manufactured only until 1965, making surviving examples highly collectible today.
Unlike later versions, Feierbach engineered the shell as a single-piece fiberglass reinforced structure, increasing durability and eliminating structural weaknesses found in modular constructions. Production ultimately ceased in the early 1970s following legal disputes, further enhancing the rarity of this model.
