A stunning vintage Matteo Grassi MG5 cantilever armchair, designed in the tradition of Mart Stam’s iconic cantilever chair and produced in Italy during the 1980s.

This elegant armchair features rich wine-red genuine leather upholstery, a beautifully crafted chrome-plated tubular steel frame, and distinctive leather-wrapped armrests.

The MG5 / Model B34 is a refined interpretation of the classic cantilever chair concept, originally developed by Mart Stam in the 1920s. Its cantilever construction provides a subtle flexibility when seated, combining comfort with a sophisticated architectural appearance.

The wine-red leather gives the chair a warm and luxurious character, making it an excellent statement piece for a dining room, office, study, lounge or contemporary interior.

The chair features Matteo Grassi leather embossing on the backrest, confirming its original Italian manufacture and adding an authentic designer detail.

Condition

The chair is in excellent vintage condition.

The wine-red leather is beautifully preserved, while the chrome-plated tubular frame is in excellent condition. The leather-wrapped armrests are also well preserved and undamaged.

The chair retains its original vintage character and features the Matteo Grassi leather embossing on the backrest.

As with all vintage furniture, minor signs of age and previous use may be present. Please carefully review all photographs for the condition and details.
