Exceptional original 1970s Italian Space Age modular lounge chair designed by Mario Bellini for Roche Bobois.

This striking piece combines a sculptural white fiberglass shell/base with luxurious original black corduroy upholstery, creating the characteristic futuristic yet highly comfortable aesthetic of Bellini’s modular seating designs.

The chair features a beautifully rounded, organic silhouette and stands on four chrome feet, giving the otherwise substantial form a light and floating appearance. The combination of molded fiberglass, deep seating and soft corduroy perfectly captures the Space Age design language of the 1970s.

What makes this offering particularly special is the availability of six matching original modular elements. Finding a complete group of six in such very good, clean and well-preserved original condition, without significant damage or structural issues, is exceptionally rare.

The modules can be used individually as lounge chairs or combined to create a spectacular large sectional sofa. Their modular construction allows different configurations depending on the space and desired layout.
