Mid century Postmodern Magazine Rack by Ettore Sottsass Style | Memphis Design |Italy 1980s
A striking 1980s Italian Postmodern magazine rack inspired by the iconic Memphis design movement and the distinctive design language of Ettore Sottsass.
This sculptural and highly functional magazine holder features a clever modular construction made from three V-shaped angled metal elements and two wooden rods, finished with wooden balls at each end. All elements are painted black, creating a bold monochromatic appearance with a strong geometric character.
The metal elements are threaded onto the wooden rods and can be repositioned and rotated, allowing the rack to be arranged in different configurations. It can be displayed horizontally or vertically, creating two different looks and functions depending on how the elements are positioned.
Integrated handle openings in the metal elements are an especially practical detail, allowing the magazine rack to be easily picked up and carried with the pointed ends facing upward.
A fantastic example of 1980s Italian Postmodern / Memphis-inspired design, combining playful geometry with functional design.
