Mid-Century Wall Mirror in Black Metal & Brass from Vereinigte Werkstätten, Munich Germany 1960s

Mid-Century Wall Mirror in Black Metal & Brass from Vereinigte Werkstätten, Munich Germany 1960s

Mid-Century German Round Wall Mirror | Vereinigte Werkstätten München | 1950s | Mathieu Matégot Style | Brass & Black Metal

Beautiful and highly decorative mid-century round wall mirror, designed and manufactured in Germany in the 1950s by Vereinigte Werkstätten München.

The mirror features an elegant black lacquered stretched-metal frame, reminiscent of the innovative perforated and sculptural metalwork associated with French designer Mathieu Matégot, combined with a refined polished brass outer surround. The combination of black metal and warm brass gives the piece a sophisticated yet playful character typical of the early Mid-Century Modern period.

With its compact round form and graphic construction, this mirror works beautifully as both a functional mirror and a decorative architectural element. It would be particularly striking in a mid-century, modernist, vintage or eclectic interior.
