Beautiful and rare Butterfly Pendant Lamp designed by Lars Schiøler for Hoyrup Light, Denmark, in the 1960s.
This is the standard 25 cm version, designed in 1968, and it’s very hard to find in such well-preserved original condition.
yellow shade , white and yellow adjustable cord holder
The pendant consists of vibrant yellow plastic sheets, skillfully folded and attached to one another. All sheets are mounted to a round metal ring that supports the bulb holder. When lit, the thin plastic creates a soft, diffused glow, while the overlapping folds form a darker band around the middle — a signature visual effect of this design.
Many of these lamps have suffered from heat damage over the years due to the hot bulbs used in the 60s and 70s, but this example remains in amazing vintage condition:
• Very clean and fully intact structure
• Only a tiny, barely noticeable flaw (non-visible in normal use)
