An exceptional and rare example of mid-century Danish design, this Model 3207 armchair, also known as “The Seven Chair with Arms,” was designed by Arne Jacobsen and manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Denmark during the 1960s. It features the original Fritz Hansen metal cap base, the early FH label, and the Danish Furnituremakers Control tag, all confirming its authenticity.

The chair is upholstered in its original shamowa (faux shagreen) fabric in a rich sage green, an uncommon variant that adds both luxury and character. The upholstery and frame are in excellent vintage condition, showing only minimal, age-appropriate wear.

Arne Jacobsen
The designer and architect Arne Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen in 1902 and worked as a bricklayer before studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts. In 1925 he took part in the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and then traveled to Germany. During this formative stay he was influenced by Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Model 3207 is the coveted armchair version of Jacobsen’s iconic Series 7. With its sculptural plywood shell, polished chrome legs, and ergonomic profile, it embodies timeless form and function.
