This design really evokes the ethos of the seventies - a bright and bold era - with the MATERIAL commonly used at the time called fiberglass.
Ernest Igl sought to design a desk that prioritized functionality combined with an aesthetically pleasing design for everyday use. This is evident in the playful composition of curved lines and round shapes that are carried out throughout the construction.
Ernest Hofmann (1920-2001) - in 1954 he gave himself the stage name "Igl" - was a multi-talented artist. As a designer, sculptor, illustrator and inventor, he designed everything from harvesters to office equipment and a microscope to rubber boots. His work includes an impressive number of products for all possible life situations. Hofmann, born in Prague in 1920, studied graphics in his hometown, in Karlsbad and in Munich, where he settled with his wife. Hofmann initially worked as an illustrator, graphic designer and cartoonist for well-known textbook publishers. In 1962 they moved to Rosenheim, where Hofmann's design-oriented career began.
