A striking large-scale 1970s Space Age sideboard by Elco, Germany, composed of two matching cabinet units that can be connected together to create one impressive 12-drawer sideboard.
This is an exceptional example of German Space Age furniture from the 1970s, combining strong geometric proportions, dark blue drawer fronts, white laminate surfaces, distinctive round handles and elegant chrome-plated pedestal bases.
Each individual cabinet features six drawers, giving the complete composition a total of 12 drawers and generous storage capacity. The two units can be securely connected using the special connecting screws, allowing them to function as one continuous sideboard while also retaining the flexibility to separate them if desired.
With its approximately 230 cm total width, the assembled sideboard has a strong architectural presence while maintaining the light, floating appearance created by its elevated chrome base.
The combination of dark blue laminate drawer fronts, white top and side panels, round Space Age handles and polished chrome creates a distinctive 1970s aesthetic that works beautifully in Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, retro and contemporary interiors.
