Rare Mid-Century Space Age “Stadio” dining table, Model 100, designed by Italian designer Vico Magistretti for Artemide, Italy, 1970s
This striking piece features a square top with softly rounded corners, made entirely of fiberglass in a rich forest green color — a hallmark of 1970s Italian design. The table’s sculptural form and smooth, continuous lines embody the Space Age aesthetic and demonstrate Magistretti’s innovative approach to modern materials and minimal forms.
Vico Magistretti (1920–2006) was one of Italy’s most influential postwar designers, known for his timeless furniture and lighting creations for leading manufacturers such as Artemide, Cassina, and Oluce. His work is celebrated for combining functionality with elegant simplicity, often through the use of new industrial techniques and materials.
Artemide, founded in 1960, became one of the key Italian manufacturers of modern design, producing some of the most iconic pieces of the era — including Magistretti’s designs — that now belong to museum collections worldwide.
This vintage Stadio table is in excellent original condition, with only minor signs of age consistent with gentle use. A perfect centerpiece for any mid-century modern, Space Age, or Italian design interior.
