Rare Mid-Century Space Age wall shelf designed by Jean Paul Emonds-Alt and produced in France during the 1970s.
A highly distinctive example of French Space Age design, this sculptural wall-mounted shelf combines functionality with an almost architectural, futuristic form. The molded construction features beautifully rounded edges, integrated supports and a strong geometric silhouette characteristic of 1970s thermoformed plastic design.
The warm white / creamy ivory finish gives the piece a soft and elegant appearance, while the smooth molded surface emphasizes its fluid, monolithic shape. Rather than simply functioning as storage, the shelf acts as a decorative wall sculpture and makes a strong statement in contemporary, minimalist, mid-century or retro interiors.
The design is particularly interesting for its three-dimensional construction and cantilevered shelf forms, creating an open architectural composition when viewed from different angles.
