Rare Set of 2 Mid-Century Space Age Nightstands – Elco, Germany, 1970s
A fantastic set of two original 1970s Space Age nightstands by Elco, Germany, featuring a striking geometric design, dark blue drawer fronts, sculptural round handles and elegant chrome-plated bases.
These bedside cabinets are a wonderful example of the Space Age design movement of the 1970s, when furniture design embraced bold geometric forms, futuristic details, glossy surfaces and combinations of contrasting materials.
Each nightstand features three spacious drawers with distinctive large circular Space Age handles, creating a strong visual focal point. The dark blue drawer fronts contrast beautifully with the white laminate top and side panels, while the elevated chrome base gives the cabinets a light, floating appearance.
The combination of the clean rectangular cabinet, rounded details and polished chrome construction makes these pieces particularly versatile.
