Set of 5 Mid-Century Modular Orbis Sofa Set by Luigi Colani for COR, 1970s Germany
This rare and highly collectible Orbis modular sofa was designed by renowned industrial designer Luigi Colani for the German manufacturer COR in the early 1970s.
A true icon of Space Age and Mid-Century modern design, the Orbis system reflects Colani’s futuristic and organic design philosophy. Its sculptural, curved forms and modular flexibility allow the elements to be arranged in many different configurations, making it both a functional seating solution and a striking statement piece.
The set consists of five modular elements, including a stool, all upholstered in beautiful cognac brown velvet. Each module sits on casters, allowing the sofa to be easily moved and rearranged. The upholstery is in very good, clean condition and has an anti-stain treatment, making the sofa both elegant and practical.
Two original matching pillows are also included.
